Welcome to GateBuddy. By accessing or using our website and application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Description of Service

GateBuddy provides independent online practice for the Grade 2 NNAT Level C. Features may include focused question-type practice, explanations, full-length practice tests, progress summaries, parent-managed student profiles, and approved student-device access. GateBuddy is intended for parents and guardians to manage on behalf of their children.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of each student you add. You may sign in with a secure email link or a supported identity provider. You are responsible for maintaining control of your email account, connected identities, and approved student devices, and for all activity under your account.

3. Free and Paid Access

GateBuddy may offer a limited free sampler. Paid plans are one-time purchases for the access period displayed at checkout. They are not automatically renewing subscriptions. The six-month plan includes one student profile. The family plan includes up to four student profiles and twelve months of access. Access begins when a purchase is completed and expires at the end of the stated period.

Prices are shown before purchase. Taxes may be added where required. Payment processing is provided by Stripe, and use of Stripe Checkout may also be subject to Stripe's terms and privacy practices.

4. Refunds and Payment Disputes

To request a refund, contact us with the parent account email and purchase details. Refunds are provided when required by applicable law and may otherwise be approved based on the circumstances of the request. If a payment is refunded, reversed, or disputed, the related paid access may be revoked.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission.
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service.
• Share paid access outside the parent-managed household or exceed the student-profile limit for the purchased plan.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on GateBuddy, including questions, illustrations, design, and code, is owned by GateBuddy or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, publish, sell, scrape, or redistribute this content without our written permission.

7. Educational Results and Disclaimers

GateBuddy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• Practice will produce a particular NNAT score, gifted-program decision, school placement, or academic outcome.
• A school or district will use the NNAT or apply any particular eligibility standard.
• The service will meet your specific requirements.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GateBuddy and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising from your use of the service.

9. Independent Product

GateBuddy is a supplemental practice tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the publisher of the NNAT, any school, or any school district. NNAT and related names are trademarks of their respective owners.

10. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for fraud, abuse, unlawful conduct, payment reversal, security risk, or material violation of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
